Laboratory Technician - Neuroinflammation

The Role:

  • The candidate must possess technical background in compound screening, immunoassays, protein-based biochemical assays, cellular and molecular biology.
  • Furthermore the candidate should have demonstrated ability in assay optimization and working experience in international research setting.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Laboratory research position in the biology department within R&D team, working on the discovery and characterization of small molecule and biological therapeutics
  • Compound handling and screening in cellular and cell-free assays
  • Immunoassays (ELISA, MSD, alphaLISA), immunoblotting, protein detection in animal and human samples
  • Immunohistochemistry, fluorescent microscopy, image acquisition and analysis
  • Preparation and maintenance of cell cultures, in particular primary cultures of neurons, astrocytes and microglia
  • Working with potential biohazard tissue, e.g. use clinical human samples as source for cellular and protein isolation, fractionation and characterization
  • Data analysis, instrument maintenance and general laboratory organization

Your Profile:

  • Master or CFC in biology or equivalent education
  • At least three years of professional experience, previous experience in biopharmaceutical industry is an advantage
  • Familiar with validation/qualification of bioassays/immunoassays
  • Strong expertise in cellular biology, BSL2 is an advantage
  • Animal experimentation authorization recognized by ResAL is an advantage
  • Excellent capabilities in work organization and data documentation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize work from multiple projects
  • Good oral and written skills in English are a must
